HISTORY

Backed by his daughters and his son-in-law, Robert Faye reinforced the notoriety of the Mas de la Dame. It now extends well beyond the region.Jacques and Jacqueline Chatin will succeed him. Seeking to enhance the quality, they create a new cuvee aged in oak barrels. This is the birth of La Stele. Finally, in 1995, the AOC Les Baux de Provence is born thanks to the common will of the vine growers of Baux to put forward this very specific terroir. That same year, Anne Poniatowski and Caroline Missoffe took over from their parents at the head of the estate, ready, in turn, to pursue this beautiful family history.

TERROIR

The breathtaking 16th-century wine estate of Mas de la Dame is situated in Les Baux de Provence, a charming medieval village perched atop a rocky outcrop in southern France’s Apilles Mountains. The essence of this rugged area’s haunting, windswept beauty is captured most evocatively in the celebrated paintings of Van Gogh.
