Owned by a native of Saint-Emilion where family roots in the region date back to the 17th century. François Despagne, and his wife Murielle, invested in the Côtes de Castillon in 1999, as they were convinced of the tremendous quality potential of this area.
Appellation: Castillon – Côtes de Bordeaux
95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc
The wine macerate for an average of 4 weeks. The wine is then barrels for the malolactic fermentation. The grape-pomace is pressed. Maturation : 50% in barrels and 50% in vat. The wines are matured between 12 to 18 months.
It has a deep purplish color.
The nose exudes aromas of preserved black fruits combined with toasted notes.
On the palate, it has a silky attach then its powerful tannins appear, showing the excellent ageing potential of this wine.
