Founded by Jean Richard in 1938, and named for his son Henri, Domaine Henri Richard is currently owned by Jean’s granddaughter Margaret Richard-Bastien and managed by Patrick Maroiller, a cutting edge vigneron & cellar master. The fourth generation is also involved in the family’s wine production with Margaret’s children, Richard & Sarah Bastien, assisting with oenology, consulting and international trade. The domaine is famous for producing complex, fresh, and fruity wines capable of aging gracefully for decades. An environmentally friendly estate, Domaine Henri Richard is certified by ECOCERT and is recognized for organic & bio-dynamic farming since 2000.

Vinification
The densely planted vines grow on 2.1 hectares (5.3 acres) of clay and limestone soils located at 820 to 1,148 feet above sea level. Pruning is severe to strictly limit the yields. The Domaine Henri Richard vineyards have been certified organic & bio-dynamic by Ecocert since 2000.

Color
An intense cherry colored wine with purple undertones.

Scents of ripe black fruits, peony and white pepper

A rich, complete, elegant and fleshy mouthfeel of blackberry, violet and toast
