Domaine Antonin Guyon is one of the most prestigious estates in the Côte d’Or, as well as one of the largest family-owned wineries in the region. Started in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon with parcels of land in Gevrey and Meursault, the domaine is controlled and operated today by Antonin’s sons, Dominique and Michel. This huge 47 hectare property now produces wines of impeccable quality from 15 different appellations, including some of the most renowned villages of the region. It is also a firm favorite of wine lovers and connoisseurs worldwide, particular for its exceptional range of Premier and Grands Crus.
Appellation: Meursault-Charmes 1er Cru Contrôlée
Meursault lies in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, where an eastern exposure ensures maximum sunlight during the days. Soils here are predominantly white marl limestone. The Guyon Les Charmes Dessus is the upper part of the Les Charmes 1er Cru, high on the slopes just below 1er Cru Perrieres.
Grapes are hand-harvested and then carried in small boxes to the cellars, where they are sorted. Fermentation is carried out in oak casks at between 18°-20°C. Lees are stirred twice a week. Wine is then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new.
A lovely golden green color.
Aromas of honey.
Very rich in the mouth, with hints of almond. Excellent depth, focus and precision
