Domaine Antonin Guyon is one of the most prestigious estates in the Côte d’Or, as well as one of the largest family-owned wineries in the region. Started in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon with parcels of land in Gevrey and Meursault, the domaine is controlled and operated today by Antonin’s sons, Dominique and Michel. This huge 47 hectare property now produces wines of impeccable quality from 15 different appellations, including some of the most renowned villages of the region. It is also a firm favorite of wine lovers and connoisseurs worldwide, particular for its exceptional range of Premier and Grands Crus.
Appellation: Gevrey-Chambertin Contrôlée
Gevrey-Chambertin is a large wine-producing village in the northern Côte de Nuits. The soils here are primarily clay and limestone based, with significant mineral deposits. La Justice vineyard site sits just below the village of Gevrey and is considered the best lieu-dit in Gevrey Chambertin.
100% Pinot Noir
Grapes are hand-harvested and then carried in small wooden boxes to the cellars, where they are sorted. Fermentation takes places for 20 days in open wooden vats at a controlled temperature and with treading. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, one-third of which are new.
Ruby red in color.
Aromas of morello cherries.
Very round and well-balanced, with subtle woody tannins and a silky texture.
