The “Castello di Gabiano”, situated in the Piedmont Region of north-west of Italy, boasts more than a century of history. In the 8th century, the document signed by Carlo Magno already testify the presence of a “Cortem magnam nomina Gabianam”.
Today Giacomo Cattaneo Adorno, the last Marquis of Gabiano, together with his wife Emanuela, passionate and determined, directly engaged in an intensive wine production, are above all committed to capture the characteristics of the terroir to extract the raw material. In this way they can assure that the wine making tradition of the family, updated with the current oenology knowledge, an stand comparison with great secular wines.

100% Barbera

Harvest in small cases with an accurate selection of the best grapes. Fermentation with native yeast in cement tanks and oak vats. Many délestages and pumping over assure a rich extraction, the calcareous clay soils giving great structure and complexity to this wine. It is finished in barrel for about 18 months and 12 months in bottle.

Dark ruby color, with some orange shades.

Complex, with primary scent of red fruits and secondary of spices, leather and a hint of chocolate.

Concentrated and balanced: a perfect balance between tannins, alcohol and the typical acidity given by the grape variety with a long finish.
