Astelia is the product of Jean Claude Mas’ passion for excellence; a selection of wines from single vineyards, managed according to the principles of sustainability and biodynamism.
ASTELIA stands for Astrid, Elise and Apolline, Jean-Claude’s daughters. “Aside from wine, what I know the best are my three daughters, Astrid, Elisa and Apolline”.
Appellation: Pays d’Oc - IGP
42% Grenache, 23% Syrah, 18% Mourvèdre, 17% Cinsault
Destemming. Each grape is vinified separated from the others, then we realize the blending. Fermentation for 2 weeks at 63F.
The wine is aged on lees with regular stirring for 40 days in new covered concrete vats. During the process, we pay attention to maintain all the fruit expression and concentration thanks to a regular pumping.
Pale and limpid pink.
Cherry, red berries and tropical notes.
Elegant, fruity, smooth, very fresh and with a persistent length.
